Dim Pahar Bandarban

Dim Pahar is located between Alikadam and Thanchi police stations in Bandarban . Thanchi-Alikdam road is known as the highest road in Bangladesh. The location of Dim Pahar is on this road. This road and Dim Hill have gained quite popularity among adventure loving travelers. Alikadam and Thanchi police stations are demarcated by the Dim Hills, which are full of stunning natural beauty and diverse tribal lifestyles. The construction of the 33 km long Alikadam-Thanchi road under the supervision of the Bangladesh Army has made travel to Dim Pahar easier.

It is difficult to explain in words the form of nature that one can see while walking along this mountain road which is spread from Alikadam to a height of about 2500 feet. Be it a witness of history or a tourist of beauty, return from here with a different sense of satisfaction.

There is a direct bus service from the capital Dhaka to Alikadam. Besides, take a night bus from Dhaka to Chakria in Cox's Bazar district and from there take local Chander car or reserve Chander car or local bus to Alikadam. From Alikadam take Chander car reserve or rent a motorcycle and proceed to Dim Pahar along Alikadam – Thanchi road. You can visit Dim Pahar and eat at Thanchi Bazar and return via Bandarban or you can also return to Alikom.

You can also go to Dim Pahar from Dhaka via Bandarban. From Bandarban take a local bus or Chander Car to Thanchi Bazar and get a Chander Car and Motorbike going to Dim Pahar.

If you want to stay overnight, you can contact BGB Resort in Thanchi. Thanchi Bazar has some more modest accommodation options. Besides, you can stay at the newly opened The Damatua Inn (01748-912127) or Zilla Parishad Dak Bungalow on Upazila Road in Alikadam. There is also a boarding in Pan Bazar though the quality is not that good.

There are several country food hotels in Thanchi, Alikadam and Panbazar. You will get good quality food even if it is not very expensive. You will get rice, chicken, meat and fish items.
