Hazrat Shahrasti Mazar Chandpur

Hazrat Shahrasti Mazar is located in Sreepur village of Shahrasti upazila of Chandpur district. Rasti Shah was born in 1238 AD in Baghdad, Iraq. Hazrat Rasti Shah (RA) was a descendant of Bara Pir Hazrat Abdul Quader Jilani (RA). Hazrat Shah Rasti was one of the 12 Auliyas who came to the subcontinent with Hazrat Shah Jalal during the reign of Sultan Firoz Shah of Delhi. He came to Yemen in 738 and Bangladesh in 1351 for the purpose of preaching religion. Later Shahrasti Upazila was named after him. His various miracles are still popular today. It is said that he dug the big lake on the north side of the shrine in one night with the help of jinns.

This man who devoted his life to the propagation of Islam died in the year 1388 in Sreepur village of Chandpur. Three and a half hundred years after his death, Kazi Ghulam Rasool built the shrine around his tomb on the orders of Subedar Shaista Khan's daughter Pari Bibi. At that time, 64 acres of land and an annual allowance from the British East India Company were provided by the government to meet the expenses and maintenance of the Shah Rasti shrine. A mosque with 3 domes was also built near the shrine. Every year on the last Thursday of the month of Magh, the annual conference or Orshe organized at the shrine of Shah Rasti attracts a large number of people from different parts of the country.

Chandpur district can be reached from Dhaka by road, sea and rail. However, it is most convenient and enjoyable to launch by sea. MV series Sonar Tari, Meghla Rani, Bogdadiya, Al Borak, Eagle, Taqwa, Mithali and Imam Hasan launches on Chandpur route from Lalkuthi Ghat in Sadarghat, Dhaka. After reaching Chandpur district, you can go to Hazrat Shahrasti's Mazar Sharif via Shah Rasti Upazila Parishad by rickshaw/CNG.

There are several food restaurants in Faridganj like Shahi Restaurant, Cafe Rajdhani, Haji Restaurant, Gharwa Hotel and Faridganj One Star Restaurant. If you go to Chandpur, don't forget to taste Padma Hilsa.

Among the other places of interest in Chandpur are Angikar Sculpture , Big Station , Big Mosque and Rupsa Zamindar Bari .
