Mayadwip Maya Dip Narayanganj

Maya Dwip is the name of the triangle shaped char rising on the Meghna River in Bardi Union of Sonargaon Upazila of Narayanganj District. Surrounded by greenery, Mayadweep will fill your mind with an unearthly tranquility. The open desert, the wind flowing parallel to the river waves and a drunken afternoon combine to make this char truly an enchanted paradise.

Being close to Dhaka, Mayadweep is another name for nature-loving visitors to spend an afternoon with their loved ones. However, if you come to Mayadweep Char tour, do not stay there after evening under any circumstances. After exploring Char, definitely return to Vaidya Bazaar before evening.

Buses of different companies leave from Gulistan in capital Dhaka to Sonargaon in Narayanganj from morning to night. The fare of these buses will be 60 to 80 taka. From Mograpara Crossroads, you have to take a battery-powered auto-rickshaw or CNG to Vaidya Bazar boat ghat. It will cost 1200 to 1500 taka to rent a boat for the whole day from Vaidya Bazaar Ghat.

There are standard hotels in Vaidya Bazar for dining. And if you want, you can buy necessary food and water from Vaidya market to eat in Mayadwip.

It is better to go in a group while traveling to Mayadip and should return before evening keeping in mind the safety.
