The Mausoleum Of Three Leaders

Teen Netar Mazar, located near Doel Chatwar in the capital Dhaka, is one of the architectural landmarks of Bangladesh. The mausoleum of the three national leaders of Bangladesh, Hossain Shaheed Suhrawardy, Khwaja Nazimuddin and AK Fazlul Haque, was built in 1963 in the design of architects Masud Ahmad and SA Zahiruddin. The High Court and Shishu Academy are located near the shrine of the three leaders.

All these three great leaders were appointed as Chief Ministers of the then undivided Bengal during the pre-independence period. The political practices of the three leaders have a special contribution in the liberation war of Bangladesh. Sher-e-Bangla a.k.a. the tiger of Bengal. Fazlul Haque was the Prime Minister of undivided Bengal. Fazlul Haque was elected Prime Minister of East Pakistan in 1954. Later served as Home Minister of Pakistan, Governor of East Pakistan. Besides, his role in the formation of the United Front was undeniable.

Khawaja Nazimuddin was appointed Governor General of Pakistan in 1948. In 1951, he was elected the second Prime Minister of Pakistan. Hussain Shaheed Suhrawardy became the Deputy Mayor of Calcutta Municipality in 1924 and was appointed Minister of Labor in Khawaja Nazimuddin's cabinet. Hussain Shaheed Suhrawardy was the Prime Minister of Pakistan till 1957.
