Father In Laws House Of Rabindranath

Dakshindihi village of Phultala Upazila is located at a distance of only 19 km from the divisional city of Khulna . In the village of Dakshindehi there is the once magnificent Roy Bari and the in-laws' palace of Rabindranath Tagore. Currently Rabindranath Tagore's Father-In-Law's House of Rabindranath is known as 'Rabindra Complex'. There are bust sculptures of poet Rabindranath Tagore and his wife and a two-storied building. Dense green gardens, betel gardens and nurseries also adorn this house.

It is known that Rabindranath Tagore's Masarada Sundari Devi and Kaki Tripura Sundari Devi were born in this Dakshindihi village. In his youth Vishwakabi came to this Dakshindihi village with his mother several times to visit his uncle's house. That is why Rabindranath Tagore's father-in-law's house became busy with various events on the poet's birth and death anniversaries.

In the beginning, this place, which is surrounded by the memory of Rabindranath Tagore's father-in-law and universal poet, was neglected. Because of which it was not possible to preserve many memorials of the poet. Rabindranath Tagore's Swashuralaya was first renovated in 1995 and in 1999 the site was recognized as a protected monument.

Rabindranath Tagore's Swashuralaya is open to visitors six days a week except Sunday. During summer from 10 am to 6 pm and during winter from 9 am to 5 pm, visitors can visit Rabindranath Tagore's father-in-law for a fixed fee.

To see the in-laws of the world poet Rabindranath Tagore, one must first come to the divisional city of Khulna. There are various bus services from Dhaka to Khulna, among them Eagle, Sohag, Hanif and Greenline. After arriving in Khulna, you can take a separate bus to Fultala upazila and from there you can easily visit Rabindranath Tagore's in-laws by rickshaw or autorickshaw.
